Longshot Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20-09-2026

Longshot is a browser extension that captures screenshots of web pages. This policy explains what it does with your information. The short version: Longshot does not collect your data.

What Longshot does not do

How screenshots are handled

When you click Capture (or use the keyboard shortcut), Longshot scrolls the current tab, takes pictures of what is on screen, and joins them into one image in a new Longshot tab. This happens entirely on your device. The pictures are held temporarily in the browser's memory while they are joined and are removed once the result tab has loaded them. The finished image stays in that tab until you close it.

A file is saved to your computer only when you choose Download PNG or Download PDF, and the image is placed on your clipboard only when you choose Copy to clipboard. Annotations, blurs, crops, and the optional URL and date stamp are applied on your device.

What is stored

Longshot stores a single setting in your browser (chrome.storage.local): whether Pro features are unlocked. It is a yes/no value that stays in your browser profile and is removed when you uninstall the extension.

Permissions

Third parties

Longshot does not use third-party services. The Chrome Web Store, operated by Google, may show the developer aggregate installation statistics under Google's own policies. Longshot itself receives no personal information from it.

Children

Longshot does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If a future version changes how information is handled, for example by adding accounts or subscriptions, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the change will be noted here.
